Felix Horn Myhre had been on the pitch for two minutes when his 89th-minute header completed West Brom's comeback from two goals down against Blackburn Rovers. It was the third time in 11 Championship games this season that James Morrison's side have turned a deficit into a victory, and midfielder Isaac Price believes the squad's collective strength explains exactly how they keep doing it.

"We've got a good squad and there's a lot of belief," Price told BBC Radio WM. "The subs changed the game at Wrexham in midweek and they did again here."

Bench impact becoming a pattern

The Blackburn result followed a similar script to the midweek trip to Wrexham, where substitute Aune Heggebo struck a late winner after Price himself had equalised. Two games, two victories sealed by players who started on the bench. Price argues that rotation, rather than weakening the side, keeps the squad competitive.

"No player wants to be rested but, in the grand scheme of things, it's for the best," he said. "You can't be playing too many games. It helps keep players fresh."

Horn Myhre's header at Blackburn was his first league goal for the club. Price was quick to flag that it will not be his last. "Felix gets into goalscoring positions and he can get a lot more goals," he said.

Price's own contribution

While the headlines went to the substitutes, Price supplied the platform in both matches. He equalised in each game, and added an assist for Heggebo's winner at the Racecourse Ground. Against Blackburn, it was his equaliser that made the scoreline 2-2 and set up Horn Myhre's late intervention.

That equaliser arrived via a Panenka penalty that left Blackburn goalkeeper Balazs Toth rooted to the spot. Price revealed the cheeky chip was not impulsive. "I know their keeper plays for Hungary and I knew they've been watching my recent penalties, so I thought now the time was right to try it," he explained. "It looks good when it comes off. But, if the keeper had stood where he was in the middle and caught it, there might have been a few people not too happy."

The penalty took Price to 16 goals in 77 Albion appearances, a rate of roughly one every five games — a productive return for a midfielder.

Midlands sides stack the play-off zone

The back-to-back wins lift West Brom to fifth in the Championship, inside the play-off positions, with Midlands rivals Birmingham City (fourth), Stoke City (sixth) and Wolverhampton Wanderers (eighth) also in contention. Price, though, is wary of reading too much into the current picture.

"We don't get too down when it's going badly and we don't get too high when we're going well," he said. "There are a lot of games in this league and things can change very quickly."

The Baggies were far from clinical before the fightback either. Price acknowledged that Albion conceded two avoidable goals and only then settled into controlling the match. "We had a really poor start. We conceded two poor goals that we shouldn't concede but we still controlled large parts of the game and we got there in the end," he said.

Preston the next test

West Brom's next assignment is a trip to Preston North End, who sit bottom of the Championship. The nature of the fixture will tempt supporters to expect a routine afternoon, but Price's comments suggest the dressing room will not allow that complacency to take hold. Two results in a week have demonstrated that belief matters as much as quality, and that Morrison now has options from every position on the pitch to reshape a game whenever he needs to.
