Vikram edits the site and writes the pieces that need the whole table rather than one result: the automatic places as they narrow, the play-off permutations worked out properly rather than guessed at, the relegation fight that started in October and nobody noticed. He came to football writing from covering local government, which is a useful background for a division where the fixture list is only half the story. He states his conclusion first and then shows you the arithmetic, on the theory that a reader who has to wait four paragraphs for the point has already left.
